The McFarlands
217 Highland View Drive

The McFarlands were looking for a house with a view when they discovered 217 Highland View Drive. They have been told it is the highest point on Oak Mountain, and the breathtaking views and vistas seem to support it. When they purchased the home, the backyard was an array of gopher holes and knockout roses. This combination did not present itself as a suitable place for their beloved grandchildren to play, so they decided to purchase the two adjoining lots and create a haven for family and friends to enjoy. They made a playground and secret garden for their grandchildren to amuse themselves in endlessly. The final piece of the puzzle was converting the backyard into a pool with pool house. By completing that, the McFarlands have made their home a peaceful, pleasant, and remarkable sanctuary with the spectacular views they were originally seeking. While you visit, see if you can complete the scavenger Hunt and find these items:  totem pole, naked lady, Savannah girl, frog, peacock, Eiffel Tower, Indian, horse, fallen angel, lightning rod, turtle, rabbits, lizards, yoga cat, alligator, and a tea party at the edge of the world. If the weather permits, ticket holders will get a glimpse of a classic British sports car made by the Sunbeam Motor Company. Please click the photos below for a closer look .
