The Sappingtons
164 Southledge
The lovely home at 164 Southledge was built in 2003 on .65 acres. Every square inch of this yard has been landscaped. While many yards in Highland Lakes face challenges with sloping property, the original owners used this challenge to their advantage by creating a two tiered backyard. It begins up top with a mostly flat sodded portion that has been a favorite for the Sappington's dogs to run, and it is also ideal for some lively corn-hole competitions. The top level also includes a large screened porch and remaining area made up of Alabama Sandstone hardscape for outdoor eating and cooking. Two stone pathways lead down to the lower tier with a beautiful inground pool. It is surrounded by stacked stone walls with shrubs, roses, and azaleas, all enclosed by a black aluminum fence. A charming wooden picket fence separates the upper and lower areas, while mature Japanese Cedars, Arborvitae’s, and Crepe Myrtle’s provide privacy. Look closely at the Crepe Myrtle’s…you might spot a trinket or two, plus a number of other items that have been encased in them! The Sappingtons have enjoyed living here for the past 2 1/2 years making some changes to the property, including expanding the hardscape, landscape lighting, and taking advantage of all the unique space opportunities it provides.
