The Aldridges
673 Highland Lakes Cove

Many people visit Aldridge Garden in Hoover each year, however, charity ticket holders have the opportunity for a unique and special self-guided tour through this idyllic setting at the Aldridge's residence's private gardens located on Highland Lakes Cove. The combination of art, nature and history on this serene double lot of land stands out for so many reasons. There is a palm tree that graces the gardens here that is at least 100 years old. Another spectacular tree on the property is an offshoot of the famous tree from Toomer’s Corner across from Auburn University's campus. This tree was taken from the original that stood there for years until Harvey Updyke poisoned it and destroyed the tree. This is just one of many fascinating historical layers that graces this beautiful home and property. Visitors will see snowflake hydrangeas that were propagated by Eddie Aldridge. They can walk through the butterfly garden, and see first hand Eddie's and Kay's love of flowers, trees, and foliage that are apparent to visitors who   stroll the yard and garden. In addition to all of this, there are one of a kind sculptures, by the famous artist Frank Fleming, scattered throughout the garden and on the elevated back porch. There are water displays as well. This yard and garden are a haven for all who have the opportunity to visit. Please click photos to get a closer look at the beauty that abounds at 673 Highland Lakes Cove.
